Helper Bobby Visits the Police Station

By Bobby Lustig (age 3.5) & Anna Lustig

One peaceful day, Bobby 's class was going on a field trip to the police station. "Come on, Puppy, we're going to miss the bus!" said Helper Bobby to his best pal, Puppy. They hurried up and were just in time to get on the school bus. The bus pulled away and headed to the police station.

Ten minutes later, they arrived. Everyone got off the bus. Helper Bobby and Puppy started got off, too, but then they remembered they forgot Helper Bobby's backpack. They had to get back on the bus and go to the back row where they had left it. By the time they got off again, the class had disappeared.

And uh oh! The gate was closed. And the sign said, "No doggies allowed." But Helper Bobby was there with Puppy!

They talked into the walkie talkie at the gate. The voice said, "Ok, you can come in, as long as the puppy behaves himself. No naughty puppies!"

Inside, the officer said, "How can I help you?"

Helper Bobby said, "Can we have a tour of the police station?"

"Sure! I'm happy to give you a tour," the officer answered.

Officer bear came in . . . "Oh no! My coffee mug is missing. Almost all of them are gone. A thief must have taken them, and he's on the loose! Helper Bobby and Puppy, can you help us solve the mystery?"

"YES!!"

Helper Bobby and Puppy became Special Agents to help solve the case.

Helper Bobby and Puppy went to look for clues at a pond.

"Uh oh. We didn't find any clues!"

They went back to the police station, but they forgot and left their car behind at the pond.

Uh oh! They were all hungry. Helper Bobby and Puppy and the police officers went to the ice cream truck. They also asked the ice cream truck driver if he had seen any thieves. Uh oh! He said some of the ice cream went missing!

After they finished their ice cream, Puppy noticed some holes in the cement. Some sort of claw mark. Helper Bobby and Puppy followed them. The holes led them to some polar bears hiding under a firetruck. And the firetruck had coffee mugs and missing ice cream under it. The polar bears were the thief!

The polar bears had gone missing from the zoo. Helper Bobby and Puppy warned the polar bears, "You shouldn't taken anything that's not yours!" Then they helped them walk back to the zoo.

Back at the zoo, the polar bears had a tea party and invited everyone. They served tea in the coffee mugs and served the ice cream. They gave the mugs back to the police in the end, and the police let them go with a warning ticket.

Helper Bobby and Puppy remembered that they left their car at the pond. They walked back to get it. But after they did, it ran out of gas at the gas station. They filled up their engine with gas and went back to the police station for a long nap . . .  until the next adventure!
